WEDDING PARTY
Bride’s party:
My younger sister, Christine is the maid of honour. Although we’ve lived apart for the past ten years, our bond is stronger than ever. Sheragime and I love Christine because she is straight talking, has a huge heart, caring nature and unmistakable laugh! Recently, she made me an Aunty to little Luigi, whom I simply adore.
Chloé is my soon-to-be niece, and since meeting Sheragime’s family for the first time, we’ve grown to be very close. We share a love for fashion, art, travel and city living.
Friends since primary school, Jeanelle, Caroline and I share many memories together. From school trips to Gozo, evenings at bumping cars, to more recent travel and foodie experiences. Jeanelle knows me very well, as we lived together in London for three years. We discovered the city together – parties, walking adventures and probably watching too many episodes of ‘Sex in the City’.
I met Jennifer and Sarah seven years ago whilst working at The King’s Fund. Since then, we have met often as a trio – brunches, lunches, parties and travels around Europe. Jennifer and I also walked 100km across the South Downs together – an experience we will never forget. Sarah is well-known for her organisation skills, always making sure there are dates in the diary for our meet-ups.
No matter how many kilometres there are between these girls and myself, I know that I can count on them in times of need.
Groom’s party:
Tasilimn (aka Tas) is one of my long-time best friends; he’s like a brother to me. You might have seen his face in Odyssey, Paperback Romance, Murder Investigation Team or Neighbours. Yes, Neighbours – the one with Kylie and Jason – he’s an actor! I met Tas in Melbourne as we were both walking down trendy Chapel street; as I passed him, I asked, “Are you from London?” Tas replied, “Yes!” and we’ve been close ever since. Together, we built Purple Room Studios, a small boutique recording studio in London, where we share our passion for music.
Mark is my cousin and a close friend. It was Mark who suggested meeting in Putney for a drink the evening I met Amy – thanks cousin! Mark and I get together regularly to test the local beers and bands – both old and new – that London has to offer.
Benjamin, Oliver and William are nephews (yes, my sister Naomi and her husband John have been busy!) Ben is the eldest; an aspiring finance guru in the making, he loves numbers and the occasional Ibiza dance party. Oli works in the family landscaping business and is a people person. He loves the great outdoors and gives great hugs. Will is a true gentleman and also works in the family business, as he too has a great passion for working outdoors.
Our witnesses:
Christopher is one of our two witnesses. Chris and Amy have been friends for over fourteen years and have shared many experiences together. Chris has seen our relationship blossom – from our first dates, to living together and now marriage. Chris also helped orchestrate the proposal and designed all our wedding stationery.
Naomi, Sheragime's sister, is our other witness. Since escaping the Iranian revolution, they’ve been through many good and many tough times together. Like most siblings, they have many funny stories to tell; like when they were children and Naomi hit Sheragime’s head with an air rifle, and another when Sheragime jumped into the pool with Naomi’s new camera.
Our parents:
John and Josephine have been a huge support to us over the years and together we have shared many fun moments. One of the highlights was spending Christmas 2014 in a converted barn in Camber Sands – the first GaleaKesh Christmas.
David and Corinna Keshavarzian, are no longer with us. We think they'll be looking over the wedding celebration with a smile and perhaps will join us in a spiritual boogie. They will of course be in our thoughts.
